Mature People!

Mature People

I know people that are in their teens, 20’s and 30’s that are more mature and avoid drama than some people in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s!

Why is that? I have never understood what drama gets anyone except a lot of stress. Perhaps it is the attention they get from their friends when they tell them about all the dramatic things happening in their lives.

To me, it is simply a waste of time!

Maybe they are telling people about the dramatic things in their lives because they don’t know how to ask for help or guidance. Perhaps they only know how to get negative attention. Quite a lot of parents, especially in my generation, I have found failed miserably at teaching their children the difference between good and bad attentions and have created children who simply do not know any better and can’t seem to figure it out on their own.

Another interesting thought, I have been reading studies lately that emotional IQ is actually more important than intelligence IQ and the studies are quickly gaining the respect they deserve. If more attention is brought to this type of testing and the importance of it, perhaps more parents (and ideally schools) in the future will be a bit more concerned with the emotional development of children throughout their entire upbringing.

I agree Kandi.. I think more time needs to be spent on the emotional side of things than the intellectual…
