Thankful!

thankful

I think we have all had people come into our lives for a short time but have made a huge impact on us. I can think of several teachers, co-workers and people who are no longer in my life but had a big impact on me.

When I think of these people I am thankful for how they impacted my life. An example was Mr. Pringle, my high school history teacher. We were to read Grapes of Wrath. I told him I wasn’t going to read it because it was too long (500+ pages as I recall). He told to read the first 50 pages and if I didn’t like it I didn’t have to read it. He was obviously a very smart man because I loved it. And I am so grateful to him for not forcing me to read it but to let me figure out for myself what I wanted to do.

Who has had a positive impact on you?

My roller skating coach, Joy Baldwin, taught me so much and gave me the confidence to face difficult situations with calm. I learned that if I can do something difficult on roller skates in front of thousands of people (at Nationals), I can do anything!

I also took skating lessons from Joy Baldwin 19Traveler51 and Beryl Eddy at the Burlington Roller Frolic!

Very cool that Joy gave you that gift!
