On this anniversary of 9/11 I thought this quote from Thich Naht Hanh was appropriate.
Those men who flew those planes into the buildings obviously were suffering. They were taught that Americans are bad and made them feel like they (and most likely their family) were going to be harmed because of us… which may be the truth.
Instead of us trying to ‘fix’ everything by going to war, causing injury, retaliating, fighting, or yelling why not try and figure out what others might be suffering over and perhaps that will help instead of punishing them.
I am not saying that what they did was right and we are not going to change a whole group of people at once but if we can figure out why one person is suffering, don’t you think this would add up and spread?
