Such a great quote! So many of us have been taught things that may not make sense to us. It IS okay to doubt what you have been taught and to have beliefs of your own.
A great example is the woman who was asked why she cut the legs off her turkey before she put it in the oven. Her answer was ‘because my Mother did.’ When she asked her mother she said she did because her mother did. Asking the grandmother why she cut off the legs of the turkey she said, because it wouldn’t fit into our stoves with the legs on. And for 2 more generations these women were doing the same thing because of what they were taught, when they had stoves that a whole turkey would fit.
So when you have doubts about something you were taught, think of the turkey legs and see if there might be another way of doing or believing something!
